When industry celebrities get catty.
It never used to be like this. Developers were protected from us, each other, and ultimately themselves by ranks of paranoid PR people. What today would constitute an 'internal dispute' or 'spirited competition' back then looked more like a fireworks display... in an abattoir. 'Slag off my game, little man? I hope your wife runs off to the circus where she belongs, but not before catching polio from the wheels of a bus.' That kind of thing.
